Setting up Authenticated SMTP in Mail (OSX) Older Versions

1. Open Mail and select Preferences from the Mail menu.
2. Select your account and click the Edit button
3. Under Receiving Mail ensure your full email address is listed for the Account ID (eg. username@csolve.net )
4. Below Sending Mail select "Use authentication when sending" and type your username as listed above and password in the spaces provided
5. Click OK

Setting up Authenticated SMTP in Mail (OSX) Newer Versions

1. Open Mail and select Preferences from the Mail menu.
2. Select the Accounts tab and then select your account in the Accounts window.
3. Under Outgoing Mail Server, click Server Settings.
4. Confirm that the Outgoing Mail Server is correct
5. Under the Authentication pull down, select Password.
6. Enter your username and password and click OK
7. Click OK
8. Close the Preferences window and select Save, when prompted
