Computer Technologist / Networking

Location: Midland, Ontario

Compu-SOLVE Technologies Inc. is expanding our technology services department by adding two additional experienced technicians.

The successful candidate will have the following strengths:

The successful candidate must have all of the following credentials:
  1. minimum 5 years in the Information Technology industry

Internet Systems Administrator

Location: Barrie, Ontario

Compu-SOLVE Technologies, Inc. is seeking a driven individual to join our experienced Internet Network Operations Centre. Responsibilities would include, but not limited to:

  1. Active monitoring of the Internet Infrastructure.
  2. Reactively resolving any incidents which may occur and ensuring that they are responded to promptly.
  3. Proactively performing scheduled changes within specified Maintenance Windows to ensure that the Internet Infrastructure is always up to date and running at optimum efficiency.
  4. Day to day systems administration and problem solving.
  5. Provide assistance to our support team to ensure that customer demands are addressed efficiently.
  6. Document and record steps taken towards resolution of an incident and add this to the knowledge database for future reference.
  7. Ensure the upkeep and continuous improvement of the Internet Infrastructure by performing periodic maintenance.
  8. Actively participate in, and suggest, projects to improve the Internet Network Operations Centre environment.
  9. Review and implement deployment documentation and provide feedback.
  10. Being available for after hours support of the Internet Infrastructure in case of emergency.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  1. Solid linux/unix/bsd experience with preference to experience with the BSD family as we’re a large BSD operation.
  2. Your own means of transportation; as part of the job responsibilities include sharing after hours coverage the ability to get on site in case of emergency is important.
  3. Solid understanding of fundamental ISP services (such as DNS, Radius, POP3, SMTP, TCP/IP,etc)
  4. An understanding of SQL (specifically with postgres and mysql) would be an asset
  5. Some programming experience (specifically with Perl, PHP, Python, Ruby, C and shell scripting) would be beneficial.
  6. Good communication skills and the ability to maintain calm in stressful situations are required.
  7. Work well in a team environment.

Executive Assistant

Location: Midland, Ontario

The President of Compu-SOLVE Technologies Inc. is looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant. This individual will provide executive and administrative support to the President, including daily correspondence, scheduling, report generation, document retrieval, creation of presentations, and executive summaries.

You must be very organized, disciplined, and completely confident in your abilities to fulfill the requirements of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist with all aspects of administration and support for the President;
  2. Ensure the efficient operation of the Office of the President, including the organization and administration of activities and functions related to this office;
  3. Serve as an important reference point/customer service contact for Senior Management, major businesses, community organizations and others as needed;
  4. Manage the President’s electronic calendar and incoming calls to ensure appointment schedules are set for the most efficient use of time;
  5. Ensure meetings for internal and external visitors (i.e. clients, colleagues, consultants) are managed, booked and communicated appropriately to the President;
  6. Manage the Office of the President with respect to daily correspondence, mail, filing, and follow-up documentation as required;
  7. Develop, maintain and manage a comprehensive filing system and pending system;
  8. Prepare and format presentation materials using MS Office suite of tools;
  9. Perform various other duties as delegated or assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of secretarial / senior administrative experience supporting an executive of a medium size to large company;
  2. Superior computer proficiency skills using internet, Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel;
  3. Strong, proven interpersonal, organizing and administrative skills;
  4. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations;
  5. Takes initiative using common sense and good judgment;

  3. Working knowledge of MS Windows and proficient internet/email navigation skills
  4. Minimum high school diploma required/some college preferred
